Video & Animation

For the past 10 years, I've served as the technical demonstrator in moving image at Bath Spa University, where I've had the privilege of teaching and guiding students in various moving image software and techniques.

Additionally, I've had the exciting opportunity to contribute to community and local projects in this field along side my normal work commitments. Below is a curated list of projects I've been involved in over the years.

Community Project - Educational Animation

Friends of Reedy River

The Friends of Reedy River, with financial backing and assistance from the city of Greenville, sought to create a series of educational animations. These animations were aimed at 7th grade students to educate them about the river system and its benefits to their lives.

I was enlisted to transform hand-drawn sketches from local children into animations.

Education Project - Video Editing and Manipulation

Datafield

In 2020, a Master's student spearheaded an art project aimed at spotlighting mental health concerns among students in today's educational settings.

I contributed with the editing and video manipulation to help enhance the narrative and to maintain viewer engagement.

A significant challenge we faced was adapting to the UK's full lockdown, requiring strategies to keep the project on schedule.

The completed film was showcased in local cinemas and art festivals, earning several awards.

Community Project - Video Capture and Editing

Bath Choral Society

The Bath Choral Society aimed to boost their presence on social media and enlisted graphic designer Stuart Henley to lead this initiative.

Stuart orchestrated the creation of this "singing heads" video to showcase the diverse membership of the choral society.

Alongside a photographer, I was involved in shooting, editing, and producing this brief video segment for use on their website and across various social media channels.

Project - Informational Animation

Defence Degree Structure

As a component of the defence degree at Shrivenham Royal College of Science, there was a request for an animated rendition of the "rocket" structure for the course to be displayed during presentations, serving as a backdrop while discussing the course's complexity.

My responsibility was to create this animation, aiming to provide new and prospective students with a clearer understanding of the course details.
